About the Web Site
The New Mexico Supreme Court web site is jointly maintained by
the New Mexico Supreme Court and the New Mexico Compilation Commission.
The site is maintained to provide public access to New Mexico
Supreme Court and Court of Appeals opinions and court forms and
uniform jury instructions. The site also includes announcements,
Supreme Court hearing schedules, new attorney lists and links
to other judicial sites.
The New Mexico Supreme Court web site provides free access to
recent New Mexico Supreme Court and Court of Appeals opinions
in downloadable word processing format. Opinions may also be viewed
in html format without downloading.
Downloadable Court Opinions
New Mexico Supreme Court and Court of Appeals opinions in word
processing format. Includes all opinions released for publication
after January 1, 1998. The format is Word Perfect 5.1 which can
be imported into most word processing programs. The opinions are
listed by official citation and case name or title. A separate
table of citations in alphabetical order is also provided.
Announcements
The Clerk of the New Mexico Supreme Court posts recent announcements.
Announcements include: a schedule of cases to be argued in the
near future, a list of new attorneys and other important announcements.
Weekly Certiorari Lists
Certiorari List Supreme Court pending cases filed through Writ of Certiorari.
The certiorari list contains a partial list of cases pending in the Supreme
Court. This list will show the Court of Appeals docket number, the case name
and status of the case. The status of the case is listed as "pending", "granted",
"denied" or "quashed".
Table of Official Citations
The citation list includes opinions that have not yet been published
in the New Mexico Reports. The official bound volumes are available
through the New Mexico Compilation Commission. 505 827-4821.
Table of Past Citations Official citations for New Mexico appellate
opinions published since January 1, 1998. Opinions released after
January 1, 1998 have an official citation number. This table includes
all prior year New Mexico Supreme Court and Court of Appeals opinions
with an official opinion number. The official opinion number for
the first opinion is "1998-NMSC-001". This was the first opinion
(001) published by the New Mexico Supreme Court (NMSC) in 1998.
Table of Citations. Advance citations for New Mexico Supreme Court
and Court of Appeals opinions that have not yet been published
in the New Mexico Reports, containing only New Mexico Supreme
Court and Court of Appeals opinions. The New Mexico Reports are
available for sale through the New Mexico Compilation Commission.
State of Judiciary Message
State of the Judiciary State of Judicial Address of Chief Justice. The State
of the Judiciary address is given annually to the New Mexico Legislature. To
save, select File, Save As in your web browser. This file is in text format,
which almost all word processors should be able to read and Word Perfect format
which is also readable by current versions of Microsoft Word.
Downloadable court forms and jury instructions
New Mexico court forms and jury instructions. Many court forms and uniform
jury instructions are available in downloadable format. The format
is a Word Perfect 5.1, however, most popular word processing programs
will readily convert these forms. There is no fee for accessing
viewing or downloading court forms and jury instructions in this
database. Forms and jury instructions in this database have been
approved by the New Mexico Supreme Court for use in civil and
criminal cases in New Mexico courts. Civil forms include forms
that may be used in small probate cases in the Probate Courts
as well as domestic relations forms used to obtain a divorce or
child support, garnishment and execution forms which are used
to collect a judgment and landlord-tenant forms used by landlords
and tenants in actions involving a lease or rental agreement of
a house or mobile home.
New Mexico court rules, forms and jury instructions are available
in searchable format through a link to Lexis Law Publishing. Although
there is currently no fee for searching court rules, forms and
jury instructions, this database is subject to copyright restrictions.

Local District Court Forms
State district court forms.
This database contains many of the forms approved for use in individual judicial
districts. These forms are in downloadable format. The full text of local district
court rules and forms may be searched through a link to Lexis Law Publishing.

Bar examination results The names of attorneys who have recently passed the
New Mexico Bar examination are available through a link to the Board of Bar
Examiners. The Board of Bar Examiners administers an examination twice a year
on behalf of the New Mexico Supreme Court. Attorneys who successfully pass this
examination are posted at this site. The Supreme Court also posts a list of
attorneys who have been recently admitted to practice in the courts of this
state. This list is included in the "announcements" database.
Court rules, jury instruction and forms New Mexico court rules, forms and
jury instructions may be accessed through a link to New Mexico on Disc maintained
by Lexis Law Publishing. There is no charge for searching this unannotated database,
however, this database is subject to copyright restrictions.
New Mexico Statutes and New Mexico Administrative Code The New Mexico statutes
containing permanent, general laws enacted by the New Mexico Legislature and
the New Mexico Administrative Code, containing most state agency rules and regulations
are also available through this link. These databases are subject to copyright

Administrative Office of the Courts. New Mexico district court dockets and
other important judicial information may be accessed through this site.
The New Mexico State Judicary Page provides links to available district courts,
and the Metropolitan Court in Bernalillo County. The Metropolitan Court. This site includes Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court
dockets. It also provides a link to the State Bar -- includes State Bar Advisory Opinions The New Mexico State Bar
Association provides through a committee non-binding opinions on attorney ethical
questions. Occasionally the Disciplinary Board also provides opinions on ethical
questions, however, these have not been published in an electronic database.
